This site is a demo of the user interface of Project Inspire phase 1. It includes the built-in Students at risk of dropping out prediction model, which uses finished courses data to predict students drop outs in ongoing courses.

Use one of the following credentials to login:

  • Manager: m1 / m1
  • Teacher: t1 / t1


Usage

To view the system models (manager role):

  • Go to Site administration > Reports > Inspire models

To evaluate, enable and execute a model (manager role):

  • Go to Site administration > Reports > Inspire models
  • Select Evaluate from the model Actions drop down menu (this is optional but useful as you want to see how the different time splitting methods perform)
  • Select Edit from the Actions drop down menu, check Enabled checkbox and select the time splitting method you prefer (note that different people use this site, it can be already enabled)
  • Select Execute to start getting predictions (note that different people use this site, it can be already enabled)

To view the model predictions:

  • You first need to enable and execute the model as described above
  • Go to Site administration > Reports > Inspire models
  • Select a course from the Predictions list menu
  • You can follow each prediction's View prediction details link (under Actions menu) to see the details

Users with tool/inspire:listinsights capability (teachers by default) receive notifications when new predictions are available. You can login as a teacher after executing the model.


    Available courses

    This course already finished. The course started on 1 January 2016 and finished on 30 June 2016.

    Ongoing course. This course will be used to predict students at risk of dropping out basing the predictions on finished courses.
